Controller Box Build
« on: January 23, 2006, 05:21:11 PM »
For my WindMill.

I've been building a "Control Box", to hold all the things that are for this "illusion".

I started out with an old bathroom drawer, then found I had an old "Panel Box" door

that allmost covered it, I made it work to cover it by drilling new mnt holes.

But I didn't like the looks of the old mnt holes, so I drilled them out to hold other things, (Fuse holders, kill switch and breaker).

I also didn't like the looks when mnting to bottom of box, so I raised stuff a couple inches off the bottom with sidemounted mounting spots.(Also to get closer to door with indicater LED on ChargeController, but will still need a optical tube to be able to see from outside, this will be installed later, when sure of componet placement).

I would like to mount AmpMeter outside, but still thinking about.

I know I when overboard on "IN" fuses, (Three). But why not?

Pictures to be posted later.

A question about wiring of Ampmeter?

Just on the pos before the fuses and controller?

My meter is from an old battery charger, 0-15 amp anolog gauge.

THANKS

Control Box-

I picked up a Real Full Wave bridge Rectifier today, Shadio Rack # 276-1185

25 Amps 50 Volts.

I'll be mounting this to a old cpu heatsink, Intell slot A, these are about three times the size of a normal cpu heatsink, (2.23"X4.9", 5 each side outside fins 1.21"H, 10 center fins .9"H, 7 cutlines, longways).

I might add a thermo sensor controlled old computer fan, but will wait to see if any heat is building-up first.

I also picked-up a 12 VDC 25 Watt light bulb, will be adding to side of control Box in

a Outside porchlight type "Fancy" housing, as a "Dump" Load. If It isn't enough I might

add a lighter Heater type 12 VDC car heater and/or a "Block Heater", (Toyletta still dousn't need it, LOL).

pic's to follow.
