We got it early this morning. Wind at 30 to 50 MPH. Gusts past 60 were expected.

I brought my windmill stuff in the house!

I left all mine out ( not much choice except for the Lenz turbine on the roof ).   Winds in the range of 30-55.   Great day for charging!

I didn't even lock the Lenz turbine down, I figured it would go or blow.  Other than a couple gusts that really shook the frame ( as well as the house ) it did very nice and is still charging quite nicely today.  I guess it's time for a much larger one !

That can't be a surface wind map, can it?  The directions and speeds are way too uniform for that terrain, especially since there is a low pressure cell in Main that at the very minimum swing the offshore slow 90 degrees....

I stand corrected -- http://adds.aviationweather.gov/winds/ , Feb 18 6Z, streamlines, the low intensifies and moves NE.  Nice uniform and solid flow over eastern PA

I did get down there today and , it wasnt as windy as it was earlier , but my little one blade   9" prop (the wobbler), did quite well.

it was the highlight of my day to see that blade start up and spin like mad..

maybe i'll have three blades by monday.
