Well, I got everything together and installed all the pieces, parts and components in place, and went to fire it all up.
Now first off, let me explain that I am EXTREMELY claustrophobic. I am installing the heat exchanger part of this system in the crawlspace under my house. Things do not bode well from the get go.......
Anyways, I get everything where it's supposed to be, all hooked up, fill it with water, and it springs a leak.
Fix that leak, another one developes.
After fixing about 5 or 6 leaks, I fire up the pump. Wife informs me there's a pretty rainbow outside near the stove. I'm getting soaked under the house, and in general not in a very good mood at all.
Absolutely NONE of the pipe fittings will seal. I've tried teflon tape, I've tried pipe dope, I even tried silicon sealer. Nothing works.
I give up. I've completely taken the water system apart 5 times now trying to get it to seal up and it just won't. I have no idea why, my brother the plumber has no idea why, Ace Hardware have no idea.
I am frustrated to the point of tears with the amount of money, time, and effort spent on this stupid thing for it not to work like this.
Just thought I'd use you folks to vent on. Please don't try to suggest ways to fix it as I have fully given up on the idea entirely and am scrapping the project. Tomorrow morning I will be disassembling it (probably with the largest hammer I have supplemented by the Sawz-all) and throwing the whole works in some dark corner of my storage shed to be forgotten for several years......
