Trim Blades

This weekend

I

Also got a "Trim Blade" 5 blade version finished

for the "Servo" motor.

This would turn a bit in the very light breezes tonight

put the "Servo" motor will take a lot or RPM's to get any

power going. It would only show about 6 V DC with cordless Drill

spinning it. I checked when I had to see what way I wanted the

prop to turn to keep the wires as colored: Red = Pos with black = Neg.

This one is set-up as a counter clock-wise.

Trim being 2 1/4" wide full length of 26 1/4".

Being the Airplane wing type profile I tried to sand to

and then mounted to a flat surface they get about 19-20`

Pitch full length.

A the "Servo" motor is the only one I've got being 3/8" shaft

and that size being pretty easy to come by, with the plate,(Lock coller based)

I used being one of two I got last week,

I might go ahead and open this one up to 1/2", for use on the conversions.

The "Trim Blades" So far.

I had salvaged this wood from heading to the dump

And one day was looking at them for use in a "Solar Panel"

Water heater I'm building and saw the Airplane wing profile

that could be made with a bit of sanding.





So far have done two versions

First was a four blade and it turned a "Tread Mill" 2.5HP

motor with ease but not enough RPM.

This is the second version-

This one has a larger bump and flatter trailing end than first one

Also on a smaller motor.

Hi Coldspot.

Was the tredmill motor 3000 rpm or 6000 rpm.

I've found the 3K motor will work with direct blade the 6K doesn't.

Saw some wide baseboard( I think it was) at Home Depot. Thought it might make good airfoils for turbines as it already has the shape needed. Curved on one side and flat on other. Good for mini-mills?

It doesn't have a twist to it so don't know how efficient it would be. The curve was on one side narrowing to thin edge

Wide baseboard trim sounds like the way to start out then.

As you can see by the pictures
I have sanded a lot from these.

On the other type,
sanding is less but still required.
