I was wondering if anybody here has any experience with one of these?????

I've read about UPS's but never played with one, yet!

Any Advice?

Hello Coldspot,

Well you still have not. That is a battery pack for a UPS:

Need the model of the UPS:-)

Have fun,

Scott.

Well if you got a full UPS (not just batteries for one) your on the right track anyway, 24V inverter in there.

Most of the UPS's I have are 24V for the good ones. Cheap junk is 12V.

I have alot of fun with some of my UPS units as inverters, but as Scott said we need the model number info stuff for the inverter and that number shows up as battery packs.

If you have an APC UPS there alot of info for most of those on the APC site. Unfortunately some of it is hard to find, most ingnorant site I ever saw to look up a model or part number on sometimes.

Well-

I guess I'd better open the box up.

I remember the guy who gave it to me asking if I wanted batteries, but, another person who was there didn't want me to get everything and only let me take one out of three box's with an extra SLA what was sitting there. (sometimes friends arn't very helpful) :(

O-well

more SLA's for E-V toys I guess.

I'll go back when somebody isn't around!

WELL,

I Finally opened up the box.

scottsAI

Is right

A brand new, (last inspection was 1999 by the tag I found taped to the top),

24 VDC battery pack

Volt test only showed 16.3 V

So I hooked up the 24 V PV panel off my "Solar Scooter"last night and left it ready pointed toward sunrise.

About 2 this afternoon I checked the volts and showed 23.2 untill sun moved to far west.

I left it ready to charge some more tomorrow but might not be able to recheck till monday or sunday evening.

Guess I'd better finish my controller kit and rig it with a switch to change from 12 to 24 operation,  all I've left to do was solder the 4 mosfets in but was working on a was to lengthen them out from the board to have better and larger heatsinks mounted to them.

O-well

FREE 81 Amp Hr

:)
