The part of Ohio I live in is the tail end of what is called tornado ally .
The highest recorded straight line wind event in Ohio was 110 MPH. On average we get 3 to 4 storms a year with gust between 50 to 60 mph .
Then there are the tornados .
Its kind of hard to tell some one that what took the roof off the barn was a strong straight line wind event or strong gust .
If It got damaged by wind it had to be a tornado.
I got in to weather spotting thru Ham radio. I have to take a class each year to keep up the paper work and keep it official.
