New rotor machined

My motor conversion project continues.


Now i have a new solid iron rotor and the aluminum gasket ready. I got them worn out  bearings changed too.


I certainly consider buying a cheap metal lathe next time. Latheing was expensive. 200 euros.





Magnets i ordered from magnet4less and they came home alright, 40 pieces of 3/4 x 3/8 N42.


Next task would be to paint the motor and to drill holes for magnets.

 The sleeve appears to be longer than the rotor.Do you have to cut it yet?

Yes sleeve is longer. I did it on purpose to fit more magnets. The purpose of outer part of the sleeve is to hold itself together.

(the purpose of the outer part of the sleeve is to hold itself together)?Maybe i'm way off here but the sleeve can't come in contact with endbells.

He's got the length of the windings plus a bit at each end as there seems to be no fans.
