New frame for the vawt
« on: December 31, 2008, 05:24:48 PM »
I got a break in the weather long in enough to finish this frame  and some wind to tune and rebalance  with just a  test with the top conversion . A nice smooth power in a 4 to 10 mph winds .The other Vawt is down as well as the solar space heater .Got to carry on as time and weather allows but a start on a new diary seemed appropriate . I have some other mods for all .This Vawt gets a replacement for the bottom motor conversion ( An axial) and some wind diverters  for the sides .More later

Hi Tecker

I think Tom and Zubbly will be proud to see their idea of dual conversions flying. If you didn't know that good thinkin on your part.Either way it takes effort to put ideas to work.Great job and Happy New Year.

Sure glad i'm not down in your miserable climate :)

I never thought about using a conversion as top bearing until I saw those guys posts It's a real smooth device with the other two bearing to split the wieght . The stator has 6 taps and it makes good power in low winds Each tap is limited to 1.5 amps with a lm317 but I may go to a charge pump over the axialn ( air core ) . The two conversions worked good together . The bottom conversion is one of the first I tackled and needs  to have taps cut in.

Well there up the frame for the 55 gal is a 5 x5 scafold .The tempoarry digs for both will give some easy access . Both havea ways to go but should give a little back on blow in days . The 15 is expanded  further than it was and just tacked up to catch the rest of the northern . The lone gunnman Hawt is going up on a tilt down  to test new blade ends and wooden blades .
