Doing with whats laying around
« on: May 28, 2009, 03:25:09 AM »

and they looked so purdy and kinda a 'John Deere'

look huh?

that little electric weed wacker works pretty well with it.....started out today with 12.7 volts in 75 amp/hr

battery ....done about a half-hr weed wacking with it watt meter on the inverter says about 150 watts.

When I got done, battery read 12.5 volts. 20 minutes of pedpower and 2 hrs. on and off sunshine has brought

it up to 12.8.

Gosh maybe put a light metal blade and some wheels would make a nice little trim mower??

15 ft. cord is sufficient 16 guage is sufficient not too much voltage drop ,,I guess.

That is a nice little power cart, and it works for your trimmer!  Nice, Rich

Norm;

Way cool! Now that's making due. Taking what's just laying around, putting them together to get "a Job" done. Nothing going to the landfill, no extra "carbon footprint" :). Sunshine and exercise, I LIKE IT!!

Perfect!!

BTW: I'm liking the paint job too, John Deere's gonna come visit you :).

UP next: electric mower?

I know, more batteries. They're on their way my friend.

Have fun with it!!

Wow, what an improvement over the last cart.  Good work Norm.  I'm sure it pulls that 60lb (?) battery around a LOT easier now with those big wheels and that real nice weight distibution over the wheels.

My dad just bought a wheel burrow similar to that with the two big bicycle looking wheels, and I am amazed at how much easier it is to push heavy things around than the old type wheel burrow.  The weight is distributed over the wheels better too like your new cart.  I easily wheel about 15 gal. water at a time way down to the garden in the plastic part of it without even spilling much water.

Nice RE-project. You should get a spot in that REnewable energy TV show for that one. Something that is actually REAL and WORKS!

I love the John Dear color look. Just don't admit you are copying their colors on TV or they will want their 'cut'.

That is cool!

Double exercise?

Pedal the battery full, then haul it around the yard.

Yep....some finishing touches like a 2 inch thick

foot so it's level some metal brackets on the

sides....kind of a tray so I can take the battery

out when I put it in the back of the Venture

(easier to put the cart in without the battery

oof...that's heavy for an old man) LOL !

Yeah...I guess the next generation gadget would

be a pedal powered generator hooked directly to

something like an 18 volt weed wacker???

with the Grandson pedaling it??
