And just who is this mystery 'Man of Flux' called Flux.

A truly walking encyclopedia/reference tome of modern day mill building.

In fact, I think he should be referred to as Sir Flux.

If the Queen won't knight him, we should.

My hat is off to you...and many, many thanks!

Hear! Hear! For Flux...

I've never had the opportunity to benefit directly, but you sure do make the world a slightly kinder and gentler and better-informed (and lower-carbon) place.

May all your turbines be fruitful and at peak power, and may oxidisation never strike your contacts nor sulphation your lead plates!  B^>

I think we should give Flux the Honorary title of Professor.

Assuming of course he doesn't already hold that title in real life.

Anyway, he's considerably more patient, selfless, and grounded in reality, than many of the University professors that I've encountered during the course of a couple of degrees...

Rah, Flux!

It's nice to have someone who can sanity check the theoretical junkpile I picked up over the years.  Including the stuff I learned from him and paraphrase from time to time.  B-)

Flux is indeed a very helpful, patient, articulate and clever individual.

My favourite quote is that in my signature that Flux once said.  The really funny thing is, the character count cut the last word almost out.

See below

Thanks flux!

Flux is a very inspiring person and one of the reasons I decided to attempt a wind project. What I learned during the project and from him (and others on the board) was way more than I bargained for. It takes only a little bit of dabbling with axial flux alternators to understand just how knowledgeable he is.

In short, if Flux writes a book..... I would pre-order that thing in a second. Luckily he has recommended a little bit of reading for the less educated (like me) but only years of experience can bring the wisdom he has accumulated.

Thanks.

Some say that when Thomas Edison was young, he swiped some funny glass bulbs from Flux's desk.

Flux has set me straight on a number of things.  I've done some mistaken things over the years and he told me plainly what he thought about them AND WHY.  Thank you for every word.  I try to "pay it forward" by giving my best advice every time I write (and knowing when to shut up when I don't know what I'm talking about!)

From time to time I re-read advice he gave me long ago, because I appreciate and understand his meaning even more as time goes by and I learn more.

Three Cheers!

Agreed.

Seems appropriate to say a big thanks for Flux's input, amazing, I wish I had done similar for Zubblys input a couple of years ago.

You never know what can happen - take care all :-)

I suspect Flux will 'cringe' at reading such praise..

Some say, he has an internal iron core, laminated of course.

Some say, that wherever he hi, he always turns to face the wind, even 'though he's indoors!

Some say that when he walks past a metal object, a tiny current passes through it.
