I have been working with DanB on getting one of their new 12 foot machines since early this year.
They built this one at their August workshop for us. It has been a kind of "display model" since and has been moved around and shown as an example. Well this last weekend it made its last road trip and is here and being prepped for installation.
Man this thing is considerably beefier than the older 10 foot Volvo based unit I already have flying.
This is the Rotor. It measures about 15.25 inches across. It came assembled so I don't have photos of the magnet rotors from the business side. The stator is shown, also since it is already mounted.

Side view of the entire head assembly. The acorn nuts are removed so I can squirt some paint on everything to help offset discoloration and rust streaking from the iron parts.

The tail boom.

The prop. DanB assembled it here before he left so I would know how it goes together. I scored the top hub plate with grinder divots and the prop with shallow drill holes so I can reassemble it correctly after the paint is on everything.

This is a photo DanF took of it fully assembled after the workshop, I think. Not sure who the fellow is in the photo.

Just wanted to share as it comes together. It is a fairly big project for us and it is finally coming together. Time for TomW to get motivated before winter clamps down here.
As usual, I have lots of high resolution photos in my gallery over at pics.ww.com for this project:

And my main gallery page is a fair record of all the stuff we are doing here:

It has never been our plan to go off grid but I believe with bthis new turbine, a bit more battery and another inverter to stack for 240 AC for the well pump we could actually live quite well with no grid.
Thanks, Dan and everyone involved as well as the users on this forum!
