12V Wiring for Starters
« on: December 09, 2007, 05:10:19 AM »
Getting started with being self sufficient and know a little about wiring, most learned through shocking myself when fixing outlets, switches, etc. I'm looking for a beginners 12V wiring project and was hoping to solicit some opinions here. The goal is to start with something simple like wiring a couple of lights in a room and all the other support equipment, battery, charging system, etc. Once I've learned the concepts there I can consider the bigger tasks. Obviously I need to read and learn and am looking for a basic intro to 12V system, wiring, etc.

When the project is complete I'm hoping to walk away with the basic skill needed to calculate, plan and install a backup system that can serve my entire house.

Good day all.

Well.... aside from the absolute basics of positive and negative I generally refer first timer to The 12 Volt Side of Life. Url below.
