Just looking around eBay and I ran across this -

Kind of wonder if this is the vendor that purchased the cells that we used to get from Bryon? Also notice the price is a lot higher.

Here's one that makes me kinda sick. Remember those nifty 0-80 DC ammeters that someone was blowing out by the dozen for cheap a few weeks ago? Now they're "Solar ammeters".

Actually, the 20-pack of meters is still available. The ones I bought measure a little smaller (2.25" x 2.25") than the individual ones (2.5" x 2.5"). They seem to work fine.

It would be bettter if everyone just bought from our good ole vendor, and kept his demand up so his supply would be better.

I agree but I think Bryon was out bid. Of course if the cells don't sell with the other vendor he won't last long. At those prices I won't buy from him. I have almost reached my goal for the number of panels I want and I'd rather wait for a better deal to finish off the project than to pay that high a price.

Depending on how much more they cost, I would pay extra. That price sunlec is proposing is ludacris though. I was willing to help out each month, by agreeing to buy at least a set amount of cells each month. It would be nice if there were 10-15 people willing to do that to where we could continue to get our cells.

Sun Electric Miami has been around for a while selling solar panels, charge controllers, inverters, and other equipment.  At least a few years.  Rich

I just ordered one at about 9 bucks.  Wish I had seen these earlier.  I searched under Amp Meter, and Ampere Meters didn't come up.  Put a bid on them now though.  Rich

The engine room still has some 'chips' for sale, 50 pounds, but it would be a lot of soldering to make useful panels.  Rich

Rich, are you chicagobargains? I don't really want to bid against you but want some of these things. Do you really need 20 of them or would you be willing to split the 20 lot with me?

And Fishfarm, thanks for the link. Amperes meteres. Who searches for that?

I got ya covered. Email me at bobwenn (at) frontier .dot. net. I'll sell one for close to what I paid for it. It'll be a week or so before I have them in hand.

It wouldn't work that way anyway - his supply was based on Evergreen. He said that they were planning on reducing their reject rate and increasing prices, so his supply is probably just about gone, and his recent sale of the third-rate chips and pieces seems to bolster that theory. He sold through over a ton of those things pretty quick.

I'd still be willing to pay more, how much more, I dont know. But @ $20 a lb @ 50lbs, I would be willing to pay more that's for sure.
