I'm happy to see I can still log in.

Dpshort, Sparweb, BruceS, Finnsawyer Thank you for your comments on that ugly flamewar thing. It was never meant as such and glad it's done. I wanted to just say thank you for the comments you made and to say to David(Dpshort) Thanks for the detailed posting and It works like a charm.

I will be sure to be technical on future posts.

The Microchip part i was going to originally use was the 16f819. I have hundreds of them from an old board run. Dave It turned out that I had to upgrade to a 16bit core part (18F1320) and using the Proton plus compiler it worked fine. It took 7k of codespace to do it but in qty the part is around a dollar.

Tom, Ross I understand better now where your coming from and appologise for not being more clear. I will attempt better postings in the future.

Hi don't feel afraid to ask questions in the future just because one thread went bad.

But if you keep using that "16bit core part (18F1320)" and "7k of codespace" jargon you might get teased by the yokels.

No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.
