Transistor and lens instead of solar cell
« on: April 12, 2006, 09:12:22 AM »
[whats the point? a dozen pictures(more than a meg) and no story kind of dumb? Not like this is news. Even an unmodified LED makes power in sunlite]

Because every pn or np junction can produce electricity from sun light.
I have read some wonderful stories getting 2W from single transistor.

http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2005/5/3/205028/6819

I opened many transistors in TO-3 package but getting less than 100mA current.
May be I need bigger lens (I have 90mm diametre only).

If somebody has built this kind of solar system pleas send some instructions and pictures.
