« on: May 15, 2006, 05:07:48 AM »
Each battery is 6 volts and 530AH's  would this get me 12volts?.....i know this seems stupid to the vets on this board and yes i searched the board for more info and the pics on the Otherpower battery section did fully help....helped but not enough.

No.

Join all the left side positives together. Vertically.

Join all the right side negatives together. Vertically.

For each horizontal pair of batteries, join the 2 free terminals in the middle together.

Ascii art.

My set-up is actually half of the pic I drew. I have only 4 batteries. My batteries are 201 amp/hour each so with each pair in series, then paralled to each other, I have 400 amp/hours @ 12volts. That link the other person provided is very helpfull to me.

Powerbuoy;

Nice, accurate diagram and a very small file to do it, 2.2k and it conveys the information perfectly.

My old 12 volt setup was exactly like that.

12 T105 Trojan 6 volters seriesed in pairs then those pairs paralleled. 12 volts at 1350 AH. If I recall right they are 225 AH at 6 volts.

Now it is split into a 24 volt bank at 450 AH and a 12 volt bank at 450 AH.

Just backing up your schematic with real world experience.

Cheers.

If it was me, I would pull the negative from the top of the diagram.

Woof;

Actually, I pulled my power from the middle of both sides in an attempt to keep it balanced. 12 volts can pull a lot of current so it seemed wise at the time.
