capability of one coil
« on: February 06, 2005, 05:01:24 PM »
I am testing my dual rotor with test coils. I am currently using 16g wire since that is what I have but will probably order 14g for the final build. Anyway I do not have any info on the magnets I have so I was wondering if someone could tell me what type of numbers this one coil should be giving.

I have

Dual rotor 12 magnets per rotor(the wedge magnets Ed sells)

The rotors are 10 inches and there is approx on average 3/4 inch between magnets

Hand spinning

Coil center is the size of the magnet

Coil is the shape of the magnet

Legs are approx 3/4 inch filling the space between magnets

I am getting 3.5V DC and approx 1 amp (using 50 DC bulb)

I am aiming to use 6 coils per phase and 3 phase.

thanks for any comments.

I did not keep perfect count as I was trying to fill the space between the magnet but it was around 50 give or take. Have you used these magnets before. Thanks
