Large (?) Wind genrator
« on: April 19, 2013, 02:38:32 PM »
I own property on a ridge with Ok winds. I am thinking if I had a large generator with a battery bank I could go off grid. Does anyone know reputable trustworthy companies in Ohio I might talk to about getting one installed?

Hi Mconley,

Talk to Larry Leamy from http://www.leamyelectricinc.com/.
Larry's not in Ohio (he's in Pensylvania) but he could certainly recommend someone highly qualified for a project like yours.

I know Larry from http://www.windynation.com/community/ forum and he knows wind, solar installations from top to bottom.
He's a likable guy and very willing to share information, ideas and I would trust him to steer me in the right direction.

If I were you, I'd learn as much as possible about wind power, your local codes etc. before attempting to hand over a project to anyone.
The more you know, the more you can communicate with a project manager and get exactly what it is you are looking for.

Best of luck in all.
