Hi all, Never thought I would be interested in this (interest is solar thermal) but I am about to buy a electric conversion kit for my Chevy S-10. Ever dealt with Wilderness EV?
let me know how it was. Well anyway I've been reading this site about three years now and I can't recall anyone building bigger than 48 volt systems. Is it a inverter thing or something else? The truck will be a 72 volt system with 12 6 volt deep cycle flooded batteries and a dc to dc inverter for the 12 volt factory stuff and I thought it would be great to go a little greener by charging it with wind on the days that I could. I already have a electric bike and it's great to get back and forth to work on dry days and I also get a great parking spot too but it rains sometimes.
Yes 72 volt will work at 250 amp max load. (400 amp controller programed to 250 max)
I'm looking for range not speed here.
No where in town has a speed limit over 35.
No interstates here.
All flat ground. (almost)
7 mile round trip to work and back.
Problems: Dump load, charge controller. OK fire at will! It's just an idea!
