I'm coming over to the states next month to join in a couple of workshops organised by Solar Energy International (SEI). I usually have a lot of fun on Guemes Island (where they are held). I like working with Ian Woofenden - he always organises everything to perfection.

This year I am working with Roy Butler for the first workshop (April 6th) which is about "Wind-Electric Systems Maintenance & Repair". We'll do some classroom stuff and then take trips to some of the many wind systems on the island and modify them. This involves opportunities to climb some amazing towers, and rub shoulders with several installers and even manufacturers confronting real world problems. I expect to learn quite a bit myself and they are even paying me to come along!

Straight after that is the "Homebuilt Wind Generators" course. This will be the fifth time I have done this workshop and it's always a blast. We plan to build 3 turbines - 6, 10 and 14 footers, based on my Recipe book. DanB has promised to come and to bring Scott with some blade blanks. So there will be plenty to do and plenty to learn again.
